Primošten is just 28 km away from the historical town of Šibenik on the Adriatic coast.
In the past Primošten was situated on the islet close to the mainland but during the Turkish invasions in 1542 the islet was protected by the walls and towers and draw bridge connected it to the a mainland. When the Turks retreated, the draw bridge was replaced by the causeway in 1564 so that they could go off to their fields more easily. Surrounded by seven little islands, Primošten is a special gift from nature that leaves no one indifferent.
What a parsimonious nature did not give, the industrious people created themselves, and made Primošten into one of the most attractive places to visit in the whole of the Adriatic. The stone houses, churches and narrow lines are perfect harmony of the past and the present.

From a fishing village, Primošten has developed into the Adriatic's heaven for holiday-makers. The charm of this town is hard to resist; the norrow streets, Mediterranean feel, the warmth of people and the land.
